Meet Hope

IMG_4014 Crop.jpg

A warm North Carolina welcome! I am glad you are here.

Three decades ago I traded the start of a songwriting and singing career for marriage and homeschooling kids.  Today the kids are grown, the marriage sweetly seasoned, and so here I am.

I grew up old school: this digital world is a mystery to me, My record player was stacked with albums from Keith Green to Stevie Nicks to Ella Fitzgerald, Bach, and Gershwin. During High School in the 70's I traveled with a band that preached Jesus using popular music through racial harmony.  Today my songs still write themselves from all that information.

I am a Christian psalmist, but also a soul rocker, and also a Big Band singer- and I just love all that "Earthy Gospel" stuff.

Hope Kemp Music exists to be a place to make something that doesn't add to the noise and helps quiet the soul, even if the only soul paying attention is my own.

If you are here to give a listen, thank you!  I believe we have things to say to each other- I would love to hear from you too.

Hope lives in North Carolina and is married to Mark, a local dentist. She is the mother of four children, two daughters-in-love, and four perfect grandchildren.
